It has been interesting reading on the discussion board the various posts citing the technology advances that some schools have and how others are slowly acquiring more equipment and computers. I feel a little out of it since I have not been teaching. There are so many new things I feel a little overwhelmed. I look forward to learning how to use the newest technology, and how to make it a part of my daily teaching practices. I don't feel very confident blogging. I can't even remember my password b/c there are so many numbers, codes and other passwords I use often. I did write it down, and hopefully it will become easier to blog. I feel fortunate that two of my team members are an email away to help :) Since our first class, I've had pink eye - Yuck! and my daughter has been sick and now has an ear infection, and my husband has the flu. Lysol is our friend! I still need to get our textbook. Snoozy's was out when I stopped by after class and I have not had an opportunity to get back there. I will go tomorrow and guess I will be doing a lot of reading the next few days. Bye for now.

Hi Jill! I remember taking an undergraduate course on Educational Technology where we learned how to use smart boards, digital projectors, Hyperstudio, PowerPoint, scanners, and more. I was so excited to be able to use this technology with children. However when I got my first job, none of this technology was in my classroom. If I ever move to a school that has this technology, I will have to 'relearn' how to incorporate it into the classroom.
Hey, don't worry! The easiest way to learn is when you are teaching others. I ALWAYS tell my kids that I am learning with them--that makes them more comfortable when they make mistakes. You are doing just fine with everything and as far as passwords--I COMPLETELY understand. I have one for this and one for that and then another one for that! I tried making a "universal" password but each site recommends/required different things so that is hard to do.
Sorry about the illness in your house. Hope all is better soon~~and is that SNOW on the fence in your background? We didn't get ANY!

I hope you all get to feeling better! I understand about not feeling confident about technology. When I took an undergrad course in technology there was so much we didn't learn about compared to all the different technologies in schools now!!! Technology IS a constant learning process because it is ever evolving!
I'm sorry you have been sick, Jill! Don't worry - this class is going to be fun.
